Derek Adame has practiced almost exclusively in Denton County, Texas since 1998. After graduating from The University of Texas School of Law in 1994, Derek’s first job out of law school was as an Assistant District Attorney for Harris County (Houston), Texas. In his years in the Houston D.A.’s office, Derek gained invaluable trial and courtroom experience in all levels of felony and misdemeanor courts. During part of his time there, Derek served as a Special Prosecutor for Assault Family Violence cases.

Since establishing his practice in Denton, Derek has represented hundreds of clients in every criminal court in the county. He has represented clients in several high profile and newsworthy cases, including representing clients facing Capital Murder charges.

At UT Law School, Derek received numerous honors, culminating in his selection to the prestigious Order of Barristers. He was also a member of a National Champion Moot Court team.

Derek graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1991, where he was a three-year letterman in Varsity Football. He is a proud graduate of Coronado High School in El Paso, Texas, where he was born and raised.
